Prior to requesting a delivery of bulk mulch, soil or compost please review the following: 

Our trucks are designed to carry 1 or 2 bulk products in one delivery, but are subject to weight restrictions. 

Minimum: We have a 3 yard minimum. This can be all one bulk product or split between two bulk products. For example, if you would like to order 1 bulk product, you must order at least 3 yards. For two bulk products, you must order at least 1 yard of one and 2 yards of another. 

Maximum: Our maximums depend on the weight of the products we're delivering. Soil is almost twice the weight of mulch. See the below table for our maximum depending on combo of products:

  • Mulch only: 10 Yard Maximum. This can be split between two different types of mulch
  • Soil only: 5 Yard Maximum. This can be split between two different types of soil.
  • Maximum combos of soil and mulch:
    • 3 Yards Mulch, 4 Yards Soil or
    • 4 Yards Mulch, 3 Yards Soil or
    • 5 Yards Mulch, 3 Yards Soil or
    • 6 Yards Mulch, 2 Yards Soil 
    • Note: these are maximum amounts, you are welcome to order less of each, such as 2 Yards Mulch 4 Yards soil or 3 Yards Mulch, 1 Yard Soil. Any combination will work as long as it does not hit these maximums and is at least 3 yards total. 
  • Need more than the maximum? You will need another delivery. Please place a second order.

    • Split loads are available, orders must meet 3 yard minimum, may not combined more than two bulk products, are subject to vehicle weight restrictions, and must be delivered to the same location. If you require assistance with a split delivery, please e-mail deliveryVT@gardeners.com
    • Orders exceeding vehicle weight capacity will require a separate order. Maximum vehicle capacity is 10 yards of most mulches and 5 yards of soil or compost.
    • Gardener's Supply will only drive on established driveways and roads, at no time will our drivers drive on your lawn. We reserve the right to refuse delivery if at any time our driver feels unsafe due to incline, surface integrity or overhead obstructions.
    • Please place a tarp, flagged stake or some other clear indication of where you would like your product dumped. We ask that you investigate obstructions that may create delivery or safety hazards such as overhead branches, power lines and roof overhangs.
    • Homeowner presence is not required. However, drop location must be clearly marked (ie tarp on driveway, stake with flagging) and accessible
    • Delivery fees are based on the Zip Code of the delivery address and are not negotiable.
    • A valid e-mail address is required and will serve as our primary communication vehicle regarding the status of your order. Please add deliveryVT@gardeners.com to your address book to avoid critical updates being delivered to junk mail
    • We are committed to meeting our schedules. However, from time-to-time deliveries may be delayed for any number of reasons including lack of available stock, extreme weather, employee absences or vehicle breakdowns. In these rare cases we will reach out to you via e-mail or phone to reschedule.
    • Gardener’s Supply delivers 7 days per week and operates on a floating schedule where customers maintain their spot in the queue as schedules shift. We cannot guarantee an exact time for your delivery.  However, we will confirm a 72 hour window for your delivery via E-mail. Please monitor the e-mail you provided at checkout to ensure you remain up to date on the status of your order.
    • NH/VT Road Postings – Please be aware that most towns will post their roads in the spring for weight limits due to the damage from large trucks while the roads are freezing and thawing. Please check with your Town Office if you are not sure of your road’s posting status.  Unpaved roads can create dangerous hazards for large trucks, please identify postings or other hazards in the comment section upon checkout.
